SmartOne® Over-the-Side Immersion Heaters
SmartOne heaters' elements are PTC positive temperature coefficient semiconductors – making the heaters self-limiting. That is, they reach a set maximum sheath temperature (which is below the ignition point of most combustible materials), meaning they are especially safe for process applications.
SmartOne® 2-inch Screwplug Heaters
Fitted with a 2-inch NPT bushing to screw into a tank wall.
Metal-Sheathed Over-the-Side Immersion Heaters
Process Technology's standard immersion heaters are available with sheaths of 304 or 316 stainless steel, titanium, or plain steel. Many styles are also available as derated heaters, which protect against scorching through lower watt density.

Three longer and narrower elements, wired single- or three-phase, in vertical loops.
Six-Tube Looped-Element

PTFE-Sheathed Heaters
Process Technology produces a line of heaters with elements sheathed in non-reactive PTFE (also known as fluoropolymer, and manufactured under various trade names such as DuPont's Teflon). PTFE-sheathed heaters have a maximum watt density of 10 W/in&2sup;, but are coiled to provide greater area for more heat output.

Single spring-like coil, vertically oriented.
HXF Series: low-profile, tank wall
Flattened, low-profile coil positioned vertically along tank wall.
HXFL Series: low-profile, tank bottom
Flattened, low-profile coil positioned horizontally at bottom of tank.
HXL Series: simple coil, tank bottom
Single spring-like coil positioned horizontally at bottom of tank.
HXO Series: elongated loop coils, tank wall
Element is coiled in elongated loops positioned vertically along the tank wall.
3HXO Series: multiple elongated loop coils, tank wall
Three elements are coiled in elongated loops positioned vertically along the tank wall.
3HX Series: three simple looped elements
For three-phase or single-phase operation.
6HX Series: six simple looped elements
Row of six separate elements. For three-phase or single-phase operation.
9HX Series: nine simple looped elements
Row of nine separate elements. For three-phase or single-phase operation.
HXOL Series (Flex-Riser): looped coils, tank bottom
Row of coils positioned at bottom of tank, provided with a flexible riser of customizable length and a protective false-floor-style cover over the elements.
HXRL Series (Flex-Riser): flattened zigzag coil, tank bottom
Low-profile, single-layer, zigzagged coil, positioned at bottom of tank.
HXSL Series (Flex-Riser): stacked rectangular coils, tank bottom
Single element coiled into stack of rectangular loops that rests on tank bottom.
3HXOL Series: three elongated loop coils, tank bottom
For single-phase or three-phase wiring.
Varipower heaters
Made with self-limiting heating elements to protect against overheating.
Screwplug Heaters
Screwplug immersion heaters have a pipe thread incorporated into the construction of the heater, allowing installation by screwing directly into a fitted hole in the tank wall.
1¼-inch Screwplug Heaters
Excellent in small tanks. With a 1¼-inch NPT bushing.
SmartOne 2-inch Screwplug Heaters
Built with a self-limiting element to protect against overheating. (For more information see the SmartOne section above.)
Tytan™ Electric Inline Water Heaters
Tytan heaters are equipped standard with titanium elements to maximize cleanliness and eliminate ionic contamination. They are available in sizes up to 144kW.

Temperature Controllers
Process Technology manufactures three lines of complete temperature controllers for amperages up to 150A.
DLC (thermistor) and DE (RTD sensor) Controllers
DLC and DE lines both include a digital readout and a standard 10-foot temperature sensor. (Note: page also includes control(s) from other mfrs.)
NR (bulb-and-capillary) Controller
Without digital readout.
Thermal Protectors for Immersion Heaters
Process Technology's immersion heaters (except SmartOne) include a thermal fuse or protector that turns the heater off in an overheating scenario. We distribute replacements of these parts.
