SoliStat™ 2 Temperature Controlled Switch
The SoliStat 2 is a user-friendly and reliable temperature controlled switch for DC powered heating and cooling applications. Incorporated in the switch is a calibrated RTD sensor, microcontroller, and solid-state switch in a rugged and weatherproof housing. SoliStat is the only one-piece, ready-to-use temperature control solution available for applications requiring the following:
- Operates on anything from 6 Volts to 24 Volts DC
- Operating Temperatures from -40ºF (-40ºC) to +257ºF (+125ºC)
- Accurate trip point temperatures below 32ºF are required
- Direct Currents up to 10A or greater are being switched
- A low-power standby/shutdown mode is required
Features and Specifications
No Arcing
SoliStat exhibits none of the arcing associated with the opening and closing of mechanical switches due to its solid-state construction.
Solid-State Reliability
The combination of RTD temperature sensing, solid-state switching, and weather-resistant construction ensures reliable and repeatable operation over the course of the SoliStat's life.
Wide Range of Set Points and Configurations
The standard configurations for SoliStat are:
- On/Off Control, factory programmable lower and upper trip-points from -40ºF to +257ºF inclusive, ±1.0ºF tolerance, minimum deadband of 3.0ºF.
- Fixed on-time control, factory programmable trip-point from -40ºF to +257ºF inclusive, factory programmable on-time in 1sec. increments.
Electrical Flexibility, Ease of Customization
SoliStat's standard operating voltage range is 6V through 28V. Regardless of the applied operating voltage, SoliStat is capable of switching up to 10A of Direct Current. SoliStat is also customizable. It
can be easily modified for 30A or 40A operation, and there are many variations (
e.g. heat/cool control, remote set-point control, etc) that can be economically implemented.
