Flange immersion heaters utilize ANSI standard pipe flanges in a range of diameters to support high tank pressures of liquids. A wide selection of watt densities, heating outputs, flange sizes (up to 10" flange), ratings and materials (titanium, steel, Incoloy) make this heater excellent for all tanks, vats, or irregularly shaped vessels. A choice of NEMA electrical enclosures makes them usable in almost any environment.

Standard metal flange heaters take up to 15 working days to ship.

If none of our stamdard flange heaters will work for your application, you can get a fast, easy quote on a built-to-order flange heater using our Built-to-Order Immersion Heater Configurator. If you have any questions, you can call (866) 685-4443 or send us a contact form or an e-mail.

If you're not sure about the immersion heater you need and you want to learn more about immersion heater sizing and selection, you can check out the box on this page for our articles and tools to help you choose the right heater for your application.

Square Flange

At 50 W/in², square flange heaters present a simple, economical method of heating liquids in pen tanks and low-pressure vessels such as wash tanks, oil and hot water boilers. Ideal for tight-constraint areas, these compact elements are easily installed by tightening a series of bolts.

  • Stainless steel or titanium flange, 3" square, 1/8" thick.
  • 304 stainless steel or titanium sheath, 50W/in² (single element).
  • No terminal box, high-temperature cutout, standard.
  • Typical application: Chemical Milling and Etching Equipment.

Low Watt Density

Low-watt-density flange heaters are 23 W/in² and consist of hairpin tubular elements welded and brazed into an ANSI pipe flange, and are provided with wiring boxes for electrical connections. Designed for use in tanks and pressurized vessels, flange heaters are commonly used for heating gases and liquids such as water, oil, heat transfer fluid, and corrosive solutions.

  • 304SS & 316SS: lightweight oils, degreasing solutions, heat transfer oils.
  • Incoloy: Forced air and gases, caustic solutions, degreasing solutions.
  • Titanium: Seawater, brine, chromic acid.

Standard Watt Density

At 48W/in², standard-watt-density flange heaters consist of hairpin tubular elements welded and brazed into an ANSI pipe flange, and are provided with wiring boxes for electrical connections. Designed for use in tanks and pressurized vessels, flange heaters are commonly used for heating gases and liquids such as water, oil, heat transfer fluid, and corrosive solutions.

  • 304 and 316 Stainless Steel: process water.
  • Incoloy: deionized water, demineralized water.
  • Titanium: seawater, brine, chromic acid, nitric acid.
